Mini – Review: You’re The One that I Want | Giovanna Fletcher

Day 52What interested me so much as I read this book was that I could not make up my mind about what I wanted to happen at the end. Usually, when reading a book, I either have an idea of what will probably happen or what I want to happen (or sometimes both), but in this case I kept changing my mind. The story follows three friends as they grow up and what happens when feelings start to develop. The story is told from the perspectives of Maddie and Ben which I think changes how you feel because you do not get to hear Robert’s point of view (except in some small exerts). Towards the end of the book my feelings were so mixed that I found myself in tears because in a love triangle there is always going to be one person left out and even though I wanted it to work out as all three characters wanted it to, I knew that could not possibly happen. I felt as if I knew the characters so well, having followed their lives from a young age and had moments where I loved them and moments where I felt they were making a bad decision, but at the end of it all I just wanted them all to be happy.
