‘Each of us carries the map of our lives on our skin, in the way we walk, even in the way we grow’.
Despite this being a children’s book, I rave about it. There is simply something magical about this book because it is full of myths, legends and adventure and my imagination was captivated. Not only that, but some of the words are beautiful and I found myself admiring Hargrave’s language more than anything. I mean, is this not a line of pure beauty?
‘I felt like a songbird caught in the sharp gaze of a raven, tiny against the darkness closing in.’
I would recommend this to so many people and I do not think it should be dismissed because it is a children’s book. Just brilliant. Please take a look at my full review here to explore the book further.
